Slovaks and Christmas Traditions
Historical Christmas Cards from Slovakia

The Christmas season is a very special time for Slovaks all around the world. The season is celebrated by exchanging gifts, carolling, traditional food and drink. Sending cards and writing letters are a way to keep in touch with friends or relatives who can't attend the many family get-togethers.

Christmas and New Year's would not be the same without the songs and music that this such a special season. Presented here are two very traditional songs that go back to Old Slavonic traditions - a Slovak version of Silent Night and a traditional song that has enormous meaning to Slovaks, wherever they may live.
